The NBA playoffs start today and so starts my daily picks. From now until the last game in June I'll be dishing a daily dose of predictions on each and every game in the playoffs.
I really should be more careful with what I put in this column. Predicting the first-round match-ups, and now predicting every game. This can only turn ugly for me.
Repercussions aside, this should actually be fun. Join me if you want. Post a comment, tell me how crazy I am, refute my logic and post your own predictions.
To be clear, these are based off the evidence and logic of the moment; that is, I do not consider whether they coincide with or contradict my predictions for the first round. If after three games a team I predicted to lose has utterly dominated a series and is playing game four on their home court, I'm likely going with that team, my previous prognosis aside.
These predictions will (hopefully) come every morning before the day's games or the night before.
Wizards at Cavaliers, 3:00 PM, ABC
Winner: Wizards
What else? The game goes into overtime and both LeBron and Arenas top 40 points.
Kings at Spurs, 5:30 PM, ESPN
Winner: Spurs
What else? Bibby and Parker both don't play defense so they both score between 20-25 points.
Bulls at Heat, 8:00 PM, ESPN
Winner: Heat
What else? Dwyane Wade stops all the talk about him struggling against Chicago and Shaq bruises more than Tyson Chandler's ego.
Nuggets at Clippers, 10:00 PM, ESPN
Winner: Nuggets
What else? The Clippers haven't seen playoff action in nearly a decade and the Nuggets know they have to prove they're more than just the higher seed. 'Melo and Kenyon Martin come out firing in this first game to pull off an "upset."
