DAY SEVENTEEN -- Two upsets are likely tonight as the Nets look to steal one in Miami and the Clippers prepare to beat down on the Suns
Nets at Heat, 8:00 PM, TNT
Winner: Heat
Thoughts: The Nets upset tonight in game one. They've been exiled on NBATV through most of round-one, but a good showing tonight on TNT should serve as a coming out party. The Heat don't have anyone to stop Vince Carter, expect VC to go for 30-35. If Krstic can manage to negate Shaq's presence at all, New Jersey gets a win tonight.
Clippers at Suns, 10:30 PM, TNT
Winner: Clippers
Thoughts: Despite what some may think, this will not be a close series. I'll be thoroughly amused tonight when I hear the analyst using words like "suprised" and "unexpected" to describe the pounding Phoenix is going to get. This isn't rocket science; Marion, Diaw, Tim Thomas, or even a healthy Kurt Thomas cannot guard Elton Brand, or even Chris Kaman. Hell, they couldn't guard Kwame Brown. The same strategy that was employed by the Lakers will be used by the Clippers, only with significantly more talented players. Clipps win.
