DAY TWENTY-FOUR -- The Heat look to close out against New Jersey and the Suns face the Clippers in a pivotal game five in Phoenix.
Nets at Heat, 8:00 PM, TNT
Thoughts: Go back, check out my first daily picks -- Day One. Go ahead, humor me. Find the first sentence in the fourth paragraph, that's where this pick comes from. I did indeed pick the Nets to win this series, so in essence, by picking Miami to close out tonight, I'm calling myself an idiot.
Dwyane Wade has been simply phenomenal through the last three games and consequently we've witnessed three consequtive W's for the crew from South Beach. I'm usually one to predict a team holding off elimination for one game, but in this case I don't see the equation changing for either team. Miami wins.
Clippers at Suns, 10:30 PM, TNT
Thoughts: Okay, I admit it, this is a close series. Don't blame me because the Suns are harder to predict than Damon Jones's next outfit. After struggling against that other L.A. team, the Suns seem to have hit a stride. It took monster games from both Brand and Cassell for the Clipps to snag a win in game four, despite Steve Nash going 3-11 for just eight points. Sure, Chris Kaman was out(shoulder) and Raja Bell had an unusually high offensive output, but the chances of Nash struggling like he did in game four are unlikely. At home, in a crucial game five, I got the Suns in this one.
