DAY ELEVEN - The Warriors look for a historical upset tonight in Dallas over the top seeded Mavs and the Raptors try to hold off elimination on their home court against the Nets.
Nets at Raptors, 7:00 PM, TNT
Thoughts: I predicted the Nets would this series, but I was hoping we would see a more competitive effort from the Raptors. The young team seems all to content just to be in the playoffs and can't seem to match the intensity and focus of the more experienced Nets. Jason Kidd has been absolutely phenomenal in this series averaging a triple-double over four games, leading the way for his Nets. For the Raptors, however, Chris Bosh has struggled over the last two games, unable to find a rhythm against the double teams of the Nets. New Jersey has come out with more energy than Toronto can handle over the last two games and I expect them to close out the series tonight in similar fashion. Nets win.
Warriors at Mavericks, 9:30 PM, TNT
Thoughts: Avery Johnson has made the one 'adjustment' that could prove more valuable than any on court strategy - he publicly called out his star player, and the rest of his team's confidence. I've said it before and I can only reiterate it, Golden State isn't beating Dallas because they some super duper secret strategy that Avery Johnson can't figure out, basketball doesn't work that way. Dallas is losing because Avery's players won't respond to a challenge, won't get fired up, and have thoroughly been stripped of their confidence. So why the pick tonight for Dallas? Because I believe if Avery Johnson can do anything it's impute his own fire, intensity and competitive spirit into his basketball team. If Dirk and the Mavs don't respond tonight, they have no soul. I'm going out a limb here, but... Mavs win.
