DAY THIRTY-THREE - After getting smacked down twice in San Antonio, Utah is down 0-2 but heading back home where they are undefeated thus far in the playoffs.
Spurs at Jazz, 8:30, ABC
Winner: Spurs
Thoughts: Usually just before writing this I have my mind fairly made up on a pick. And coming into a game three where one team is down 0-2 and coming home, I tend to pick the home team to grab a win and prove they aren't quite dead yet. But after sitting here desperately trying to wrap my head around the Jazz winning, I just can't do it. Game's one and two were unfortunately similar for the Jazz with the exception of the increased output from Boozer in game two. The Spurs defense has proved an obstacle the Jazz have yet to figure out. While Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer are having a fine series, the rest of the Jazz team (I'm looking at you Kirilenko and Okur) haven't done much else than stumble out onto the court with their shoelaces tied on right.
The Spurs on the other hand look fluid, on automatic. Duncan has been stellar, Parker has been playing a fantastic floor game, Ginobili looks aggressive and more importantly effective, even cats like Oberto and Barry are offering solid contributions. The Spurs are playing like a great team right now, and even though I do believe game three is the best chance for the Jazz to get a win, I'm not ready to pick against that one great team that's looking poised for a title run. Spurs win.
